Aaron Thomas Clark
While in eighth grade, I chose to attend Wilkes Early College High School, a dual-enrollment program through Wilkes Community College (WCC). I knew taking college courses as a high school student was something that would allow me to grow both inside and outside the classroom while also preparing me for my next steps in life. As a WCC student, I have been exposed to many compassionate instructors and faculty who have helped me prepare for a transition into a 4-year university. As I am graduating from the early college program (a year early) with two associate degrees this May, I know that I have been equipped with the proper skills needed to succeed at a university and beyond. In the fall, I will be attending UNC-Chapel Hill as a Colonel Robinson Scholar. Without the great opportunity of being a WCC student, I know that I would not have received such an award as this at Carolina. I am honored to call myself a WCC student and grateful for all the doors WCC has opened in my life.
