When I began my journey at James Sprunt Community College, it was to earn an accounting diploma to make myself more marketable, but it became so much more. During the summer of 2017, I registered for an accounting diploma, something I could complete in one year. It had been over 30 years since I had been a college student but during my first semester, I realized that I enjoyed learning! I completed my first semester with a 4.0 GPA and was hooked! This led me to change from a diploma to an Associates in Accounting and going into my last semester I still have a 4.0 GPA.
While at JSCC I have participated in Phi Theta Kappa, been a tax preparer for the school’s VITA tax site, tutored students, and completed work study. I am thankful for the many opportunities that I have had while at JSCC because this small community college changed my direction in life. Therefore, I am excited for what the future holds for me!
