Board of Postsecondary Credentials to meet Aug. 7 in Raleigh
RALEIGH – The Board of Postsecondary Credentials will meet Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. at the NC Community College System Office, 200 W. Jones St.
The General Assembly created the Board of Postsecondary Credentials during the 2017 legislative session. The purpose of the board is to review and make recommendations for developing a statewide system of postsecondary education linking industry, corporations and businesses with educators, government and community organizations to identify workforce skills and training needs and to ensure that appropriate courses of study and vocational training are available to North Carolinians.
The board is chaired by the lieutenant governor and includes the following individuals or their designees: the president of The University of North Carolina, the president of the NC Community College System, the superintendent of public instruction, the commissioner of labor, the secretary of commerce, the president of North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, the executive director of the Office of Proprietary Schools, the president of the N.C. Hospital Association and the executive director of the N.C. State Education Assistance Authority.
