Chris Combs

After his 20-year retirement with the United States Navy, Chris L. Combs struggles with his place in society.  Since retirement, Combs felt lost and unsure of where he fit in.  The idea of college came to mind and Combs started making plans to attend Lenoir Community College.  Being out of school for a long time and being an older student made Combs nervous. 

However, after meeting the teachers and staff he felt at home. He saw how they appreciated his endeavors and embraced him.  Combs states, without their support, it would not be possible to obtain accomplishments such as the Academic Excellence award.  Lenoir Community College has been a wonderful experience.
