Darcy Kerns

Over the years, I have had many goals and aspirations, one of them being to succeed throughout my time here at Guilford Community College. I decided to attend GTCC for a variety of reasons and couldn’t be happier with my choice. When I first began attending GTCC, I was striving to become a pediatric nurse. I have always had a heart for young children and a strong interest in the medical field; therefore, pediatric nursing appeared to be the perfect fit. However, throughout, my first semester, I realized that while I loved the medical field, it simply was not the right choice for me.

I later met with Mrs. Linda Johnson, the director of GTCC’s Early Childhood Education and strive to better the lives of young children. I absolutely love my field of study, and I’m beyond excited to see what the future holds. My end goal is to work in a Guilford County Public School as an NC Pre-K exceptionalities teacher.
