HiSET® Exam at Home
In keeping with the purpose of NCCCS to deliver adult education programs in North Carolina (N.C.G.S. § 115D5), NCCCS has agreed to participate in the HiSET® Exam at Home. This online Proctoring Pilot effective July 13 is an option for test takers.
Please review the test vendor website at https://www.ets.org/s/cv/hiset/at-home/ for details on online proctoring protocol. For specific questions on this new testing method, please consult the ETS web site available in English and Spanish.
There will be no change to scoring and reporting procedures; the integrity of the test itself and the reporting of results is maintained as required.
The HiSET® Exam at Home is an option for eligible test takers and available in English and Spanish. HiSET testing is still available at NC HSE test centers that are open for in-person testing.
The test will be “live proctored” by a third party. The proctors do not have access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and no test information or results are stored by the proctor.
All fees assessed for testing remain the same. ETS may charge an additional administration fee associated with offering a remote testing option. This fee is charged to the examinee, and NCCCS does not retain any portion of this administrative fee.
