“Meeting small business owners where they are”: Pamela Young-Jacobs named Regional Director for the Small Business Center Network

Pamela Young-Jacobs has been appointed Regional Director for the Small Business Center Network’s (SBCN) Sandhills Region.  Young-Jacobs is the Small Business Center Director at Southeastern Community College and was selected for this additional role as a result of the success of several new initiatives she created at Southeastern that led to being honored with the SBCN Innovation Award for Services and Collaboration in November 2022.

“Pamela has emerged as a strong innovator and leader, and she has the enthusiasm and drive that creates results,” said Anne Shaw, State Director of the SBCN. “She will provide excellent mentorship to her colleagues.  Helping small business owners is an important investment in local economic development and Small Business Centers are on the forefront of ensuring that early-stage entrepreneurs have the information and tools to launch their enterprises.  As businesses grow, they can return to the Centers to refine their business plans, learn about new business opportunities, and participate with other small business owners in training and networking opportunities.”

As Regional Director for the Sandhills Region, Young-Jacobs will provide coaching and mentoring support to the Directors at the eight Small Business Centers in the region.

“I am excited about the potential of the Sandhills Region.  The eight SBC Directors in the region are doing great things in their local communities,” Young-Jacobs said. “I want to help coach the entire team in their efforts to support the dreams of small business owners and generate strong economic impact in their local communities.  That’s what we do best, by responding uniquely to the market and meeting small business owners where they are.”

The SBCN Leadership Team is comprised of eight Regional Directors who contribute their expertise to mentor the SBC Directors in their respective regions. Young-Jacobs in the newest SBC Director to join the Leadership Team.
