Prior Learning Equivalencies
Both the system and individual colleges make determinations about how to accept and apply prior learning credit. This page represents approved equivalencies across all 58 colleges in North Carolina. Each school maintains their own list of equivalencies, but at a minimum, must accept these credits.
Find your exam, license, credential or more below to see what's accepted and how it may apply to your WDC or curriculum program. Consult with an academic advisor for final determinations.
Nationally-Recognized Exams
We award credit for Advanced Placement, CLEP, DSST and more. Speak to an academic advisor about exams you've already taken, or can take to shorten your educational journey or make it less expensive.
Job Training and Knowledge
Use past work and learning experiences to earn credit. Your work-based certificate, license, apprenticeship and more can be applied to your degree. Make sure to speak with an academic advisor to learn more.
Military Experience
We offer credit for military occupation and service experiences. While we often follow the ACE recommendations, some exceptions do apply. Learn more by speaking with an advisor.
