Regional Forums to Future-Proof North Carolina's Workforce

Generative AI and other technological advancements are changing the way we work and learn, and the pace of change is accelerating. The purpose of these regional forums is to understand why this matters, what it means for our state and region, and how we can work together to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead to ensure North Carolina leads the nation.

This four regional forum series is co-hosted by the NC Chamber; myFutureNC; NC Community College System and Foundation; NC School Superintendents' Association; the NC Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Center and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund; and the Successful Practices Network. Participants include leaders from business, government, education, and community organizations.

Each forum is taking place in September 2024 on a community college campus and will feature speakers including: Futurist Bill Daggett, (Daggett Presentation) NC Community College System President Jeff Cox, (Cox Presentation) myFutureNC President and CEO Cecelia Holden, NC Chamber President and CEO Gary Salamido, (Salamido Presentation) NC School Superintendents' Association Executive Director Jack Hoke or his representative, and NC Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Center President and CEO Sam Houston. The series is made possible with generous support from the NC Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Center and the Burroughs Wellcome Fund. Details about each forum are listed below.
