In collaboration with the University of North Carolina System, the NC Community College System ensures that students who transfer between the institutions can still complete their associate degrees.

You can use the Reverse Transfer program to combine the credits from your new university with the credits you earned at your community college.

In most cases, these combined credits meet the requirements to complete your associate’s degree. This ensures you receive the recognition and applicable credentials for the work you completed.

Having an associate’s degree while you continue your education can help you:

  • Meet General Education requirements in a planned curriculum
  • Secure employment or a higher wage in your job if you plan to work while in school
  • Demonstrate your academic knowledge in a subject area

University Policies
