About

Dale McInnis serves as a member of the State Board of the North Carolina Community College System and chairs the Board’s Strategic Planning Committee. He brings more than 32 years of leadership experience in North Carolina community colleges, including senior finance and administrative roles before serving more than 14 years as President of Richmond Community College.

As president, McInnis focused on workforce and economic development, student success, financial sustainability, and partnerships with employers, schools, universities, and local communities. He emphasized aligning community college programs with regional needs and expanding opportunity through education.

McInnis also served as Legislative Chair of the North Carolina Association of Community College Presidents, where he worked on state policy and funding model issues, including Propel NC. He retired in 2024 and was appointed by the North Carolina Senate to the State Board in 2025.
