Scott Ottman serves as Chair of Transformation Committee on the State Board of the North Carolina Community College System. He brings more than 40 years of executive leadership experience from IBM and Lenovo, where he retired as Vice President of Worldwide Operations and Transformation for Lenovo.
Throughout his career Ottman has led many transformational initiatives spanning enterprise technology modernization, shared services, operational redesign, customer experience improvement, financial optimization, and data-driven decision-making. He is recognized for building high-performing teams, aligning stakeholders around strategic priorities, and delivering measurable outcomes in highly matrixed environments.
Known for a collaborative and transparent leadership style, he partners closely with executive leadership teams, boards, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive enterprise alignment and institutional impact. Ottman has significant experience leading multi-year transformation programs involving ERP modernization, enterprise data and analytics initiatives, customer relationship management strategies, process optimization, and organizational change management.
