- Your connection to community colleges? I am a former community college student and currently work with community colleges across Western North Carolina through my role with the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I completed coursework at Central Carolina Community College to become a HERS Rater while working for Habitat for Humanity. I later attended evening classes at Durham Technical Community College while exploring a return to school for nursing.
- What do you love most about the NC Community College System? I love how responsive North Carolina’s community colleges are to the needs of their students, communities and local employers. They create accessible pathways to new careers, particularly in the skilled trades, while helping people become workforce-ready, strengthen their skills and gain the knowledge needed to start and operate their own businesses.
- A fun fact about you? I am a beekeeper and enjoy learning about and caring for bees.
