Luke Farley is North Carolina’s 20th Commissioner of Labor, having taken office as the youngest Labor Commissioner elected in a century and the youngest sitting member of the Council of State.
Before public service, Commissioner Farley spent more than fourteen years in private legal practice focused on workplace safety law, working directly with employers to protect workers and support business growth. His career has been built around the intersection of safe workplaces, skilled workers, and a strong economy.
A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University School of Law, Farley brings to the Board direct insight into workforce regulation, employer needs, and labor market dynamics. He is focused on aligning workforce training across North Carolina so workers and businesses have the skills, safety, and protections they need to grow together.
