About

Brad Briner is the State Treasurer of North Carolina and serves on the State Board of Community Colleges after a career as a global finance and investment leader.  Briner previously served as Co-Chief Investment Officer for Willett Advisors, the firm that manages the philanthropic and personal investment assets of Mike Bloomberg.

Earlier in his career, he held investment leadership roles at Morgan Creek Capital, the UNC Management Company, ArcLight Capital, and Goldman Sachs. A Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Briner graduated with distinction in economics and earned an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School. He brings to the Board deep expertise in investment management, public finance and fiduciary stewardship of large-scale capital, all directly relevant to the System’s long-term financial sustainability.
