Chaz Beasley is a North Carolina attorney based in Mecklenburg County. A native of the North Carolina foothills, he grew up in a low-income, single-parent household and credits a quality public education with shaping his path.
Beasley is a graduate of Harvard, where he earned honors, and Georgetown Law. After law school, he returned to North Carolina and built his legal practice in Charlotte.
He brings to the Board a legal background, a policy perspective, and a personal commitment to expanding educational access for students from underserved communities. As Chair of the State Board Policy and Governance Committee, Beasley is focused on strengthening the System’s governance framework so community colleges continue delivering meaningful opportunity across North Carolina.
