Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Current and valid NC Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting License or Dental license (DDS or DMD) or eligible to apply for NC license within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in dental education, dental practice, or clinic management.
- At least 3 years in a leadership or administrative role.
- Experience with program development, accreditation processes, (preferably CODA) and managing a clinical environment.
- Knowledge of dental hygiene and dental assisting education trends and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Health Administration, Public Health, Education) within one year of hire.
Position Description
|
The Director of Dental Care provides leadership and operational oversight for the college’s Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs, as well as the on-campus dental clinic. This role ensures high-quality education, student success, faculty development, and clinical operations in alignment with accreditation standards and industry best practices. Teaching within the dental programs may be required as determined by the Vice President of Health Sciences.
