Part Time, Surgical Technology Lab Instructor (Adjunct)

The Part Time, Surgical Technology Lab Instructor (Adjunct) is responsible for providing supervision and instruction during laboratory requirements of surgical technology courses at the Davie Campus (Mocksville, NC). The Lab Instructor reports to the Program Director, Surgical Technology.
Essential Job Functions:

• Instructs, supervises, and provides timely assessment to students, meeting program requirements.
• Maintains a laboratory environment which is clean, safe, and in compliance with laboratory safety standards
• Performs other duties as assigned that achieve the mission and initiatives of the college

Your attributes:

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
• Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on certifying Agencies (NCCA). 
• Have a minimum total of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.  
• Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and collegially with others

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a teaching assistant 
• Knowledge of laboratory safety standards
