Minimum Qualifications

Education Required

Bachelor’s Degree from an institutionally accredited post-secondary college/university

Experience Required

  • Two years of related records management experience.
  • Advanced data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience recognizing, working with, and reporting data anomalies
  • Experience analyzing, compiling, and reporting data analyses related to students.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, Access and/or another database querying tool.
  • Customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications

Education Preferred

Graduate credit hours in Business Administration, Research, Information Systems, or related field from an institutionally accredited post-secondary college/university

Experience Preferred

  • More than two years of related records management experience.
  • Experience in an academic setting.
  • Experience with an enterprise student information system (e.g., Colleague)
  • Experience in outbound telephonic data collection and relationship management.
  • Experience reviewing data according to grant programs and policies
  • Experience with grant project management

 

Position Description

The Student Outcomes & Outreach Technician supports data collection, report submission, and major project-related activities for the Steps4Growth grant. The primary job function is to collect and document post-completion employment outcomes for students who participate in courses/programs related to the grant. This will require conducting a high volume of outbound outreach and cold calling to verify employment data as well as securing formal consent to provide this information to grant funders. The incumbent must be knowledgeable of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the handling of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to ensure all outreach and data management activities remain in strict compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies.
 
The successful candidate will utilize a variety of applications to document reliable, accurate, and dependable information in support of the goals of the Steps4Growth grant. This includes writing queries to extract raw data from diverse sources of campus data including the college’s relational database, Colleague and the data querying tool, Informer. Additionally, the individual must be able to join, manipulate and analyze data to support requests for information. This includes being proficient in Microsoft products such as Excel and Access.
