On October 17, 2025, the State Board of Community Colleges (SBCC) voted to repeal the State Board Code, 1H SBCCC 500.2 – Special Purchasing Delegations. This repeal aligns with the SBCC approval of the increase in the general purchasing delegations to the maximum amount of $100,000. With this increase, the special purchasing tier structure is no longer applicable.

The repeal will be effective November 1, 2025. At that time, the amended rule will be published on the North Carolina Community College System’s website, State Board Code – NCCCS (nccommunitycolleges.edu).  For your convenience, a copy of the rule in its final form is attached to this memorandum.
