Amendment of 2A SBCCC 300.6 – North Carolina Proprietary School Fee Schedule

On January 16, 2026, the State Board of Community Colleges (SBCC) voted to amend the State Board Code, 2A SBCCC 300.6 – North Carolina Proprietary School Fee Schedule. The amendment increases the late license renewal fee for Proprietary Schools from $500 to $1,000. This increase would potentially discourage schools from submitting late applications.

The amendment will be effective February 1, 2026. At that time, the amended rule will be published on the North Carolina Community College System’s website, State Board Code – NCCCS (nccommunitycolleges.edu).  For your convenience, a copy of the rule in its final form is attached to this memorandum.
