North Carolina’s community colleges are leading the way in a new $9.25 million Careers Electric™ initiative launched by the Siemens Foundation to strengthen the nation’s electrical workforce. With the North Carolina Community College System serving as a key partner, the initiative will expand electrical training pathways, modernize curriculum, and connect learners to high-demand careers. Of the $9.25 million total investment, $2.5 million will support ten of North Carolina’s community colleges that will be selected through a rigorous RFP process. Each selected college will receive $250,000 in flexible funding under a pay-for-performance model. The funding will be utilized to help grow Electrical Systems Technology (EST) program enrollment by 20% at each participating college over three years.
