From Strategy to Practice: Holistic Student Support in Action | Western/Central Regional Meeting | Forsyth Technical CC

The North Carolina Student Success Center invites you to join this IN-PERSON Holistic Student Support Community of Practice Western/Piedmont Regional Meeting, an interactive gathering designed to move holistic student support from conversation to practice. 

This is more than a meeting. It is an opportunity to see what is working, learn how it was built, connect with the people doing the work, and take practical ideas back to your campus. 

Participants will have opportunities to: 

• Experience holistic student support in action and explore promising practices that address barriers to student success. 
• Learn directly from colleges doing the work, including how initiatives were started, who was involved, lessons learned, and what other colleges can replicate. 
• Explore the Student Parent Blueprint and co-design experience developed in partnership with Jobs for the Future (JFF), the Urban Institute, and the North Carolina Student Success Center. Learn how student voice was incorporated into the design process and how colleges can adapt this approach to better understand and respond to the needs of their own students. 
• Connect with community, statewide, and national partners and explore how strong partnerships can help colleges respond to student needs without having to build every support internally. 
• Engage with colleagues across the region in practical conversations about basic needs, student parents and childcare, mental health and well-being, food insecurity, transportation, financial stability, resource navigation, and other holistic supports. 
• Identify strategies worth replicating and leave with resources, connections, and clear next steps for bringing ideas back to campus. 

The goal is not simply to hear about good work happening across North Carolina. It is to understand how it happens and how we can learn from one another. 

Come ready to ask, “How did you do that?” Meet the colleges and partners behind the work, exchange ideas with colleagues, and leave with at least one promising practice, one new connection, and one action you can take back to your campus.
