Setting the Stage: Human-Driven AI in Community Colleges

Establishes the intent of the year’s Community of Practice, introduces the Tech & Talent Framework, and grounds the community in the operating principles for compliant, ethical, and instructionally sound AI adoption. This opening session sets the compliance and ethics floor — FERPA, COPPA, and data privacy — that every subsequent session builds on, positions AI as augmentation rather than replacement of teaching and learning relationships, and connects to the board-approved digital fluency framework for the year ahead.

Target Audience: Open to all faculty, staff, and administrators across the NC Community College System.
