Do you have a new business idea?

We've teamed up with the Jacksonville-Onslow Chamber of Commerce and Coastal Carolina Community College’s Small Business to host "Pitch It Onslow!"; a competition that allows you to pitch your new Onslow County business idea to a panel of three Business Bulldogs for a chance to win start-up money and prizes!

The ideal candidate for this program has not started a business before, but has an idea about the type of business they would like to create. Prior business owners are eligible to participate, but they must apply with a new business concept for an Onslow County based business they wish to start. Participants should be passionate about their business idea, have some knowledge of the industry they would like to start a business in, and are willing to commit to the course work and training necessary to start their new business the correct way.

Contestants must be residents of Onslow County and certify:

  1. They are not currently in business with the business concept they have presented in their application
  2. They will participate in all Pitch It! Onslow affiliated trainings/events
  3. They are not currently employees of Marine Federal Credit Union, Jacksonville-Onslow Chamber of Commerce, or Coastal Carolina Community College
  4. They are not related to a current Coastal Carolina Community College or Marine Federal Credit Union employee.
  5. They plan to open a new business based in Onslow County
  6. They will use any prize funds received for the business they pitched in program and for that business’s purpose only
  7. They will deposit any prize funds received into a business bank account in the name of the business they pitched in the competition
  8. They will advise Marine Federal Credit Union, the Small Business Center at CCCC, and Jacksonville-Onslow Chamber of Commerce when they have officially started their business, created jobs, and retained jobs within their company
  9. They will respond to all requests for information including participation in the Small Business Center’s annual impact survey for a minimum of three years following their participation in the program
  10. They will participate in the program ethically and represent themselves and the program professionally at all times
