In May, 2019 Academic Excellence Award recipient at Bladen Community College, Katie Pontak, earned an Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and a high school diploma all at once. Katie started taking classes at Bladen Community College through the Career & College Promise program since 2017; she plans to further her education by transferring to Meredith College in fall 2019 to major in Dance. 

“The courses I have taken at BCC have been fun, challenging, and rewarding. They have prepared me for future classes at the university level. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to be in classes with peers with various life experiences and wonderful instructors who have been very helpful and encouraging me. I have truly enjoyed my time here at Bladen Community College,” Katie said.
