Virtual Learning Community (VLC)
The North Carolina Community College System’s Virtual Learning Community (VLC) is leading statewide efforts to help faculty navigate the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning. Through resources such as the AI Faculty Guide, the VLC brings together the real-world experiences of North Carolina community college faculty, national best practices, and practical classroom strategies to support academic integrity while promoting meaningful student learning. In addition, the VLC offers Microsoft-certified AI training and a wide range of professional development opportunities led by recognized experts in the field, helping colleges move from uncertainty to informed, effective AI integration and innovation.
AI Community of Practice
The AI Community of Practice introduces a Tech & Talent Framework for all college practitioners implementing AI skills and processes across college classrooms and operations. This group meets monthly with a pre-determined topic schedule, providing guidance to ground the community in the operating principles for compliant, ethical, and institutionally sound AI adoption.
