Federal Programs
The Federal Programs Unit provides leadership, oversight, training, and policy development services to NCCCS for programs funded primarily through the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act of 2018 (known as Perkins V) and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title II program.
The unit provides technical assistance, professional development, and instructional and support services to provide students access to high-quality Career and Technical Education programs (Perkins V) and Adult Education and Literacy Services (WIOA Title II). The programs represented within the unit include all the initiatives of both federal programs, Office of Education Civil Rights monitoring, and other education and training activities related directly to equipping the country with a competitive and sustainable workforce.
Perkins V
Federal funding for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to help students gain meaningful employment in in-demand careers.
WIOA Title II
Federal funding for Adult Education programs to help students build basic skills, earn high school diploma, and transition to postsecondary opportunities.
Monitoring and Compliance
Guidance, oversight, and monitoring to promote program integrity and continuous improvement.
