Two North Carolina Community Colleges Named Finalists for National Aspen PrizeNorth Carolina is the only state in the nation with two community colleges among the top 10 finalists for the 2027 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. The Aspen Institute announced that Forsyth Technical Community College and Stanly Community College have both advanced to the final round — the first time the state’s community colleges have placed multiple institutions among the national top 10.
